Candy Red VW T6 Campervan Custom Paintwork
The Brief
In 2016 we were asked to complete a custom respray on an Autohaus Spartan VW Campervan to be displayed at the NEC Motorhome and Caravan show.
We decided upon a Candy Red finish and the results are still being talked about today!
The Spec
Base Vehicle: Candy White VW T6 Transporter.
Bodywork: Candy Red finish using; Mazda Solar Red base coat, Transparent red top coat and a clear lacquer.
The Process
We began by stripping the bonnet, doors, tailgate, sliding side door, wheels and lights, leaving us with a bare shell.
We started by prepping the inside, door panels and door apertures which were then painted.
We gave an initial base coat in Mazda Solar Red metallic paint, followed by a transparent red top coat, followed by a clear lacquer.
The outside was then prepped and painted in the same way.
Finally the van was reassembled and polished to give a factory finished.
The Result
The final campervan appeared on the front cover of the Autohaus Brochure and proved to be a huge hit. At the NEC show the van was a great attraction and people are still talking about the campervan to this day.
